A Wrap Room

Yo! Yo! Whassup? How awesome is this wrap room? Ok, I know it's not a "rap" room, but I could make some fantastic music in a room like this. I have filed this one under "dream room" in my dream house design folder. Ah. Someday! Happy Monday!

Flashback Friday - Conversation Pit

Am I the only person who thinks we should bring conversation pits back? I mean, what says cozy more than a hole in the floor, filled with pillows? My parents had a conversation pit in the house we lived in when I was a toddler. My mom used it as a big playpen for me. How cool is that? I would love to have had one to contain the mini-pearls in when they were small. Now it would be nice to have a big, comfy space for all five of us and the dogs to comfortably watch a movie. Sectionals just aren't the same. So, any takers? Let's bring it back! NO? Well, it sounded good for a minute or two. Happy Weekend and may you find a comfy place to chill.

Thirteen

Thirteen years ago today, my life forever changed for the better. This little bundle entered my world. It was Easter Sunday and it was the best Easter ever.

Home from the hospital

Where does the time go?

The Pearl Family of Three - oh my! Mr. Pearl and I look like teenagers.
(we were not by the way)

ooh that hiney!

First Birthday!

first loves - paci and woobie

Second Birthday at the train

A Sprite from Sonic, "real tongs", and the grill... good times

Third Birthday

Fisherman and Daddy

A new love - fishing
(this one seems to be a "keeper")

Kindergarten picture
(this one melts my heart)

Swinging from a tree

First Bay Fishing Trip

Legos - you are a master

The Beach - home away from home

A young man - when did this happen?

Your infectious smile

The place you are most comfortable - anywhere outdoors

I cannot believe that my first born is thirteen. Thirteen! How did this happen? I mean one day it's sippy cups and Thomas train and the next it's Legos, fishing lures, guns and deodorant. Lot's and lot's of deodorant!
Fisherman, you are a blessing to our family. You are a loving son, a patient, big brother and a loyal friend. Your passion and love for fishing and the outdoors is contagious and your knowledge is amazing. You are smart and you work hard. You are funny and a delight to be around and you light the world with your gi-normous smile. Happy Birthday darling son! Thank you for still allowing me to hug you in public. I cannot wait to see what the Lord has planned for you, for it is sure to be great. Happy, Happy Day!

Monday, Monday

It's Monday. Just thought I would say that, in case you didn't already know. I was awake half the night, listening to the storms. I am the weather monitor at our abode. Everyone seems to be able to sleep through what sounds like Armageddon, except me. I don't ever want to miss an opportunity to hunker-down in the hall bathroom with my husband, the mini-pearls and the two dogs and a fish in a space never meant to hold more than one person at a time. I'm a safety girl. (name that movie) When the weather sirens go off, I'm your girl. Thankfully, we dodged the bullet here. Our trees received an impromptu pruning, but we are safe and sound.

Ok, back to Monday. All I really wanted to say is how nice it would be to curl-up in a comfy bed, sip on some tea and read a good book. Interested? Well, at least we can go there in our minds. This is what I'll be thinking of in carpool line today. Have a good one!

Retro, Modern and Cool

Tired of my "Queen" post? I am! This has been another one of those weeks and each time I had a moment to sit at the computer and compose something fabulous (said with sarcasm), I was too pooped! Getting some rest sounded like a better idea. I know that my family appreciated that option, so thanks for not holding it against me.

I came across this fantabulous home the other day, as I was cruising real estate listings. I have mentioned before that this is one of my little hobbies. It is a lot easier than attending "open houses" on Sunday afternoons and the selection is much better. I also think that it is a good way to get design ideas. Well, it's mostly design "don'ts" but when you come across a listing like this one, it is so worth it. How cute is this home?

The groovy orange door and the turquoise planters let you know something fabulous awaits you inside!

cool pop-o-green

Aaahh. Ghost chairs - never tire of them

clean and crisp

I don't know why, but I LOVE this picture. Notice the uber fantastic, lucite hand rails

Okay, is this the coolest nursery ever? This little one will grow-up to be some kind of awesome.
Love the retro, kitsch mural

Have a ultra-cool weekend.
