Warm, Autumn Interiors

The temperature is still in the nineties with a million percent humidity here in Texas, but autumn is in the air. It has to be! Every year, I get the feeling that fall will never arrive and just when I think that I cannot take the heat any longer and start to question why I live in this inferno of a state, fall does arrive. Autumn in Texas...to my northern friends, it feels like their summer but I will take temps in the seventies any day! I put together a few pictures of warm and cozy interiors. These rooms make me think of fall. So, grab a pumpkin spice latte and enjoy!

Happy Fall Y'all!

Spring Break

I am home this week having a little "stay-cation" with my boys. Mr. Pearl has business that couldn't wait. Sweet Pea is having a ball in the City of Lights and I am home. With my boys. I am trying to have a good attitude. I mean, they are perfectly happy, so I should be. Right? We are going to spend lots of time outside: riding bikes, fishing, maybe I can sneak in some gardening? So far, we have been to Bass Pro, Cabella's and Academy and we have watched the movie Jack and Jill three or four times. Good times. Anyone would enjoy this, right?

I have been pinning away on Pinterest, spending some quality "me" time. It can't all be about my boys. Oh how I miss Sweet Pea! Hope you all are enjoying your spring break. I found these pictures that said "spring" to me. Enjoy!

Sea Shells - Take Two

There shall be eternal summer in the grateful heart.
-Celia Thaxter

The cabinet is covered entirely in shells.

The entire wall is a mosaic of shells!

Thanks for hanging in there with me and the lack of posts last week. I got the mini-pearls off to a good year at school! I think that I have mentioned how much I love sea shells. They are little treasures and I love the natural, sculptural quality that shells add to a space. I decided to revisit shells one more time. It could be the fact that I have grocery sacks full that I brought back from my Florida vacay or my last heroic effort to hang on to summer - ok, it's both. So, here are a few more of my favorite shell images. I hope these inspire you to enjoy and hang onto these last full days of summer and maybe to do a shell project or two!
Happy shells to you!
